National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE) Chennai is inviting applications from eligible applicants for the posts of Scientist-B (Statistics / Bio-statistics) and Scientist-B (Microbiology / Virology) under ‘Other Backward Class (OBC)’ category in the Pay Band (PB-3) Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay Rs.5400 & other allowances as per Rules at the ICMR’s NIE, Chennai on or before the last date.

The National Institute of Epidemiology (राष्ट्रीय महामारी विज्ञान संस्थान) was established on second July nineteen ninety nine by merging the Central JALMA Institute for Leprosy (CJIL Field Unit), Avadi with the Institute for Research in Medical Statistics (चिकित्सा सांख्यिकी में अनुसंधान के लिए संस्थान), Chennai.

Educations Qualification ->>

Scientist-B (Statistics / Bio-statistics) ->> First Class Master’s degree in Statistics/ Bio-Statistics from a recognized University. (OR) Second class M.Sc. + Ph.D. Degree in Statistics / Bio-Statistics from a recognized University.

Scientist-B (Microbiology / Virology) ->> 1st class Master's degree in relevant subjects (Microbiology/ Medical Lab Technology/ Virology) from a recognized University (OR) 2nd Class M.Sc.+ Ph.D. degree in the above subjects from a recognized University.

Age Limit ->>

Scientist-B (Statistics / Bio-statistics) ->> 38 Years

Scientist-B (Microbiology / Virology) ->> 40 Years

Salary Details ->> Selected candidates will get PB-3 Rs. 15600 - 39100 + Grade Pay Rs. 5400 and other allowances as per Rules.

Indian Scientists working abroad are exempted from application fee.
