Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (केंद्रीय विद्युत नियामक आयोग), a key regulator of power sector in India, is a statutory body functioning with quasi-judicial status under sec – 76 of the Electricity Act two thousand three. Central Electricity Regulatory Commission was initially constituted on twenty four July nineteen ninety eifgt under the Ministry of Power’s Electricity Regulatory Commissions Act, nineteen ninety eight for rationalization of electricity tariffs, transparent policies regarding subsidies, promotion of efficient and environmentally benign policies, and for matters connected Electricity Tariff regulation (संबंधित विद्युत शुल्क नियंत्रण विनियम).
