Requirements:
- Applicant should belong to India, Nepal and Bhutan.
- Candidates other than the above countries are not eligible.
- An Indian origin person currently inhabitant of Malawi, Uganda, Burma, East African countries, Pakistan and Vietnam are also eligible to appear in UPSC IAS Examination.

Requirements for UPSC IAS Exam:
- Bachelor degree in any stream from any recognized university of India.
