Eligibility Criteria for Junior Telecom Officers (JTO)

Education Qualification for applying in JTO-Telecom:

Graduates of Engineering or Technology are eligible to appear for this exam. Those who have an equivalent degree can apply as well. The certification must be from a recognized college. Students must have learned any one of the following disciplines:-

• Computer
• Electrical
• Electronics
• Information Technology
• Radio
• Telecommunication

Those who are awaiting their graduation results are also permitted to appear for the examination. A score of above 60 percent ought to have been scored by the students in their finals.

Age Qualification for BSNL - JTO Entrance Exam:

Applicants of the JTOs (Telecom) exam must not be less than 21 years when they submit the admission form. The upper age limit is 30 years. But this is relaxable in some cases. They are:-

• Government servants – up to 5 years
• BSNL employees – up to 5 years
• Applicants of the SC and ST tribes – up to 5 years
• Applicants of the OBC category – up to 3 years
• Applicants of the PH General Category – up to 10 years [SC/ST: 15 years and OBC: 13 years
• Residents of J&K

Eligibility Criteria for Telecom Technical Assistants (TTA):

Nationality/Citizenship: Only Indian Nationals can apply-

Educational Qualifications:

The candidates must hold a degree in the following discipline for getting eligible for examination:-

• Telecommunication Engineering
• Electronics Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Radio Engineering
• Computer Engineering
• Instrumentation/ Instrument Engineering
• Information Technology Engineering

                                           OR

• The candidates should either have B.Tech degree or a 3 years Engineering Diploma in the above mentioned subjects.

                                          OR

• The candidates with the degree of M.Sc. (Electronics) are also eligible for the examination.
• All the degrees should be in hand while applying for the examination which means the candidates who are in the final year of their graduation are not eligible for taking the examination.

Age Limit:

The Age of the candidates must range between 18 years to 30 years with both ends inclusive on the date of Application.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates who have completed BE/B.Tech degrees in Engineering in any recognized university or college are eligible to apply for BSNL SDE Recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria for Deputy General Manager (DGM):

Education Record:

• Candidates who are willing to apply should possess 1st class B.E / B.Tech or equivalent Engineering Degree / CA / ICWA / CS with minimum 60 % marks or more  from recognized institution.
• Candidates must have Min. 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in BE/B. Tech or equivalent Engineering Degree from following disciplines: Electrical, Electronics and Communications/ IT/Computer/ Computer Sciences.

Work Experience Eligibility:

• Minimum 12 years post qualification working experience
• Minimum 3 years of sector-wise experience:In case of PSU experience: Minimum 3 years in E-4 grade as defined in DPE guidelines (IDA pre-revised scale Rs.14500-350- 18700/Revised IDA Scale Rs.29100-54500).In case of Private sector experience: Minimum 3 years in equivalent annual gross salary, which is approximately Rs. Seven lacs gross.In case of government job sector experience: Minimum 3 years in CDA scale Rs.10000-325-15200 (pre-revised scale).
• Minimum 5 years work experience, in a company with an annual turnover more than Rs 100 Cr. (in case of PSU, Private Companies).
• If you are from a PSU or Government Service, you have to produce the ‘No Objection Certificate’ issued on letter head or duly stamped by the competent authority at the time of interview.
