About of Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme ->> Based on this noble intend, and after detailed discussions, a comprehensive scheme has taken shape as Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), authorized vide Govt. of India, Ministry of Defence letter Number 22 (Twenty Two) (i) 01/US/D (Res) dated 30-12-2002. The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) was launched with effect from 01-04-2003. With the advent of this scheme. Ex-servicemen pensioners and their dependants who were only allowed for treatment in service hospital are now authorized treatment, not only in service hospitals, but also in those civil/ private hospitals which are exclusively empanelled with the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS).
