UP PCS Civil Judge Preliminary Exam Pattern -

• The Exam is of Objective type
• It consists of Multiple Choice Questions.
• Question paper comprises of 2 papers.
• Duration of each paper is 2 Hours.
• Paper 1 consists of General knowledge for 150 marks
• Paper 2 consists of Law subject for 300 marks
• There will be negative marking for each wrong answer

The UPPSC Civil Judge Mains Exam consists of the following features :

• The exam is of Conventional type i.e it consists of descriptive questions.
• There will be 5 papers.
• Each paper is conducted for a total of 200 marks.
• Papers – 3, 4 & 5 consists of questions pertaining to Law Subject.

Paper No.1: General Knowledge:

• This paper will be of 200 marks.
• History of India and Indian Culture,
• Geography of India, Indian Polity,
• Current National Issues and topics of Social relevance,
• India and the World,
• Indian Economy,
• International Affairs and Institutions and
• Science and Technology,
• Communications and Space

Paper No.2: Language:

This paper will be of 200 marks.

It shall comprise four questions as specified below:-

Essay to be written in English	60 marks
English Précis writing	60 marks
Translation of passage from Hindi to English	40 marks
Translation of passage from English to Hindi	40 marks

Paper No.3: Law-I (Substantive Law):

• This paper will be of 200 marks.
• There shall be questions of 50 marks in relation to Constitutional Law alone.
• Law of contracts,
• Law of Partnership,
• Law concerning easements and torts,
• Law connecting to transfer of property including the principles of equity, specifically applicable thereto,
• The principal of Equity with special reference to the Law of trust
• Specific relief,
• Hindu Law
• Mohammedan Law
• Constitutional Law

Paper No.4: Law II (Procedure and Evidence):

• This paper will be of 200 marks.
• Criminal Procedure Code
• Code of Civil Procedure,

Paper No.5: Law III (Penal, Revenue and Local Laws): 

This paper will be of 200 marks.

• All the question set be consists of Indian Penal Code,
• Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act 1951,
• Uttar Pradesh Urban Buildings (Regulation of Letting, Rent and Eviction) Act 1972.
• P. Municipalities Act,
• P. Panchayat Raj Act,
• P. Consolidation of Holdings Act,
• P. Urban (Planning and Development) Act 1973,
• Together with rules framed under the aforesaid Acts.

UP PCS Judicial Service Civil Judge Interview Round - Candidates, qualify in Prelims & Mains Exam, you need to appear interview / final round. The interview will be of 100 marks.
