Chandigarh Education Department Clerk, LDC & Steno Typist Exam Paper Pattern:

 The written examination will be multiple choice objective type.
 There will be two composite papers of 100 marks each.
 The time duration for each paper will be 02:00 hours (120 minutes).
 There will also be a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer.
Qualifying marks for each test will be 40% for all candidates.

Chandigarh Education Department Clerk, LDC & Steno-Typist Exam Syllabus:

Paper-I:

English:

Verb, preposition, adverb, subject verb agreement, Error Correction/ recognition, tenses, sentences rearrangement, fill in the blanks with articles etc., comprehension, answering questions based on unseen passage, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms usage, vocabulary & grammar, Proficiency in the language.

General Awareness:

In this objective of questions about general knowledge of surrounding society of the candidates to test the awareness about surrounding activities. Questions will also be included towards a scientist sight and thinking which expected from an educated person. So, candidates should focus on affairs about India and its adjacent countries too. Scientific Progress/Development, National/International Awards, Indian Languages, Books, Script, Capital, Currency, Sports-Athlete such as essential knowledge.

Computer Proficiency Test:

Computer Fundamentals, Windows (MS-Windows), MS-Office:- Word Processing (MS-Word), Spread Sheet (MS-Excel), Presentation Knowledge (MS-Power Point), MS Access and Usage of Internet Services available on Internet, Communication Technology, Networking Concepts.

Paper-II:

Mathematics:

Questions will be asked from Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages, Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Date Interpretation is the section which has to be focused.

Statistics:

Mean, Median, Mode, Average, Probability, Representation of data, table and graphs.

Aptitude (Reasoning):

Questions will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning.


Typist Test for Clerk & LDC:

Typing Speed Test on Computer @ 35 words per minute. Only qualifying nature.

Stenography Test for Steno-Typist:

Stenography Test in English at the speed of 80 w.p.m. in Stenography and 20 words per minute to transcript the same on computer.
